KSBR appreciates you, your wife Diane, and daughter Shanelle, for sharing your story about the unintentional shooting of Shanelle.

I know it was a tough ordeal your family experienced. But it was kind of your family to share with listeners your experiences, so hopefully they won't endure the same troubles.

Several listeners had phoned following the program to compliment you on being courageous in sharing the story, and for wanting to do more with the Shanelle Foundation.

With the numbers of unintentional shootings among kids rising in the nation, I can see how your organization can help educate kids to desire to stay away from guns, and for adults to lock them up.

I hope you're successful in getting the Foundation off the ground. Please keep me updated.

I look forward to doing a yearly show on unintentional shootings, to air near the Anniversary of Shanelle's shooting. I have already put that down on my 1999 calendar.
