Thank you very much for sharing Shanelle's story with me, introducing Stop Our Shootings and the wonderful work it does in teaching the community about the hazards of playing with firearms, and for providing support to victims. I have circulated your packet of information to my staff at the office, and we are all touched by Shanelle and her courage.

I believe that injuries due to gunfire are 100% preventable. Your program addresses the preventative nature of gun accidents, as well as provides assistance to victims and their families. You also give the children a lesson in reality as you teach them the serious and sometimes deadly implications of handling guns.

Thank you for your leadership in this important area of gun safety. I wish you continued success in your programs. Please continue to keep up the good work, and please extend my warmest regards to Shanelle and your family.
